Yarn Folk
Presentation - Sun, Sep 22 at 12:45p EDT
Since 2013, Yarn Folk has been working to create a space that is inclusive and welcoming, and this is informed by a philosophy of openness. We appreciate subtle, wonderful variation in color and fiber, and that carries over to how we view our interactions with customers, vendors, and colleagues. We want our humans to feel included, inspired, encouraged, and admired.
We love the properties of natural fibers–wool, alpaca, cotton, bamboo, mohair, and more. While we do stock some blends that include synthetic fibers, natural fibers are what you’ll see most of. (Including synthetic blends is a nod to our efforts to offer materials across a wide range of price points.) Sustainability is important to us, too, and you’ll see that reflected in our natural fiber selection and in our packaging choices–the retail bags we have available when you don’t have your own are made from recycled paper; our shipping mailers are recycled, reusable, and thin-film recyclable; and even our shipping labels are recycled.
We are here to help you find what you want from the fiber arts - whether that means comfort, meditative practice, creativity, or skill mastery. Your exploration in the fiber arts is your own, and we’re here to help you discover whatever improves that experience for you. We support and encourage self-directed experimentation and skill-building. It's only yarn! It's okay if you make mistakes!
